Welcome to this friendly four-partner practice located on one of the four hills that surround this ancient Roman town. The practice history dates back to the late 1800's.
We are five minutes walk from the town centre just below the castle. We have been training since 1989 and two partners are former registrars and trainers, Dr. David Henderson and Dr. Pamela Wright.
The premises were
purpose-built and opened in 1993 providing excellent accommodation for all staff, disabled
access and centre of town parking. We provide primary care services for a population of
8,300 which includes 10% residing in an area of recognized deprivation. Our full-time
nurses teach student nurses and have higher training in asthma, diabetes and family
planning. We are supported by practice attached community nursing and health visiting
staff and in-house physiotherapy and counselling services.
The registrar has their
own consulting room and desk-top P.C. linked to the practice E.M.I.S. system. Emergency
cover during the day and Saturday morning surgery are covered by in-house rota,
out-of-hours cover is provided by the local co-op NORDOC. Recent registrars successfully
completed summative assessment and passed the M.R.C.G.P. They would be happy to provide us
with references.
Dr. Wright is also
an under-graduate tutor currently attached to U.C.L./Royal Free but with the move into the
East Anglia deanery we are hoping to establish links with the new medical school at the
University of East Anglia at Norwich. Dr. Cutler is currently serving on the board of
Colchester Primary Care Trust.
